Book Review

Like Ezekiel of old who sat in the valley filled with old bones, we were sitting in a great cemetery filled with gravestones that marked the resting place of Moravian saints. These nearly forgotten prayer warriors had pioneered some on the richest and most daring missionary work in the history of the Church, but on this day all was silent

So starts The Lost Art of Intercession by Jim Goll. The excerpt is from the first chapter titles Restoring the Moravian Fire. It refers to the early Moravian commitment to prayer and intercession. In Herrenhut , a small village in the Eastern border area of Germany this small persecuted group of Christians decided to start a round the clock prayer of intercession for revival. They pledged to take one hour shifts and pray and this was maintained for 100 years. Yes really 100 years. The book attempts to excite the reader to commit to the practice of intercession.

With chapter titles of
..................
Restoring the Moravian Fire
Restoring the Fire on the Altar
Restoring the Priestly Role of Intercession
Restoring the Art of Pleading Your Case
Restoring the Watch of the Lord
Restoring the Path From Prayer to His Presence
Restoring the House of Prayer for All Nations
Restoring the Expectation of the Supernatural
Restoring the ATM
The Day of the Watch Has Come
..............

We are taken through the background and process of intercessory prayer. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in intercession .
